Chester Life Drawing has made plans to display their work in a month of art, creativity and inspiration!
Founded in 2016 by artist Rob Owens and taken over by local illustrator Steph Coathupe in 2023, Chester Life Drawing is a relaxed and friendly community for arty folks in Chester. Based in the University of Chester's Creative Campus, each session features a professional model and runs for two hours from 7pm-9pm on Thursday evenings. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
Starting on Friday, February 2, 2024, the group will be showcasing a selection of the work they have created alongside Chester University’s Artists in Residence. The exhibit will take place at the CASC (Contemporary Art Space Chester) Gallery in the Chester Grosvenor Shopping Centre and will be open to the public between 10am-4pm on Saturdays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays until Saturday March 2.
Steph Coathupe, host of Chester Life Drawing, said: “I’m delighted to announce the first ever art exhibition of Chester Life Drawing. I’ve had so much fun since taking over the group from Rob back in August, and we’ve really built a community together over the last few months! Getting together to showcase all of the amazing work the group has created will be a chance to celebrate how much each artist has developed.”
She added: “We’re also hoping that the exhibition will give the community an opportunity to see what we’re all about. Our sessions are relaxed and fun, and anyone is welcome to pop in to any of our sessions just to give it a try! If it’s not for you but you know someone who’d love to come along, why not purchase them admittance to a session as a gift via our website?’”
